I truly believe it's the simple things in life that are most valuable to our health and happiness. So, for me, a walk in the countryside is time very well spent. Sunday morning, my husband and I packed what turned out to be a rather large picnic, printed off a map, forgot the map and drove to a car park situated in our neighbouring national park, the Sussex Downs.
With, rather luckily, fantastic sunny weather, we ended up walking around 6 miles, taking in the beautiful surroundings as we went. We followed the South Downs Way through undulating hills, over stony bronze age paths and found the perfect place to stop for a spot of lunch.
It was the perfect way to spend an unusually warm and sunny August Bank Holiday.
