OUTDOORS | On the hunt for signs of spring

Ok, so perhaps it's still a little early to call springtime - it is still February. But, through the occasional sub-zero temperature and snowflake or two, there are tiny signs of the season to come if you look closely enough.


Amongst the pristine snowdrops are sprouts of springtime blooms.



Although not a bonafide sign of spring, these golden catkins are a tell-tale signal of the end of winter ergo spring is on its way!



These geese are out whatever the weather, the hardy things.

I love seeing coupled ducks. This pair is often staking out the horse field, with the horse.


It'll be soon time for the real colours of spring: bluebells and daffodils, I cannot wait.
