FOOD & LIVING | No fads, just simple healthy eating

There's so much around at the moment about so-called 'clean eating' isn't there? As much as I love the concept, as far as I can glean from newspaper reports and scientific research, there's really no basis to it. Even more concerning, it could mean that those following a 'clean' diet are missing out on much-needed nutrients.
So, what's the answer? It seems to me the only real way to eat healthily is to do all the same sensible things those-in-the-know have been telling us for years: fresh fruit and veg, wholegrains, lean protein and minimal processed foods, alcohol, sugar and trans-fats.
No fads. No fancy modern titles. Just buckets of the good stuff as fresh and whole as nature intended it. That means fewer chemicals, more in-season produce - and a glass or two of red or slice of cake when you fancy it.
To me, this sounds not just doable but actually rather wonderful.

*As part of my simple, easy approach to life, I like to dabble in recipes that give me fewer of the bad stuff and more of the good. I'll be sharing a few of these with you on an ongoing basis so do keep checking back.
