New year resolutions

Having failed to keep most of my previous new year resolutions (usually within the first month), it's safe to say, I'm no longer that enamoured with the tradition. Year after year throughout my childhood and teenage years, I endeavoured to stop biting my nails. It's only now that I'm in my thirties that I've sort of managed to tame the so-called 'bad habit' - although I occasionally find myself having a shameful nibble.
But for 2018, I'm going to try something new. I'm resolving to simply be a little kinder to myself; to not beat myself up when things aren't perfect, to strive for results but to know that if I do fail at something, it's ok. And lastly, to take things slow.
My husband and I bought a house in November and what with the move and work and Christmas, the end of 2017 was a big stressful whirlwind.

A stay with family in Sweden over Christmas helped settle my mind and now, as we roll round to another January, I'm going to try to keep the calmness and clarity of mind for as long as possible.
That means making time for the things I enjoy the most whenever I can: walks in the countryside with my husband, yoga, listening to my dad's old records, drawing and finding new ways to indulge my creativity.
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
